A Monochromatic Girly Card

Hi again :)
I'm back with another card that I want to enter in a few challenges.
I was asked by a family member to make a card for her sister but the problem is.....I have never yet her sister lol, so I decided, how can you go wrong with girly?
I love this image and had just bought some thule, which I had never used before on a card, so thought I would try it out and this is what I came up with.

Welcome to my world!

First off, I have some exciting news and it's a 2 parter.
I was asked to be on the design team for Crafting From The Heart, and THEN I was asked to be a guest designer for the month of February for Crafty Catz.  I'm totally in heaven because challenges for me are not about the prizes that can be won, although great, but personally I like the badges lol, makes me feel like I've achieved something.  So I want to thank the fabulous teams at both of these blog challenges for giving me a chance to shine :)
So that's the good news, but we all know that when good things happen, something needs to level the playing field lol and that is what happened with my printer this week.
I was trying to print an image for a card I wanted to do for the Crafty Catz challenge and noticed that my black wasn't printing but my other colors were fine so I went through all the tech stuff I was supposed to with aligning my cartridges, doing a maintenance clean and so forth but nothing was working although I wasn't getting an error message (I have an HP photo jet with a display screen).
So I go looking for solutions on the internet, well cause everyone knows you can find any answer on the internet lol, so I came across this site that told me to take my printer head out and soak it in hot water cause it's probably clogged so that's what I do.  Needless to say I now get an error message that tell me to contact HP cause I'm an idiot lol...it won't go to the home screen or anywhere else!
Thank god I have some great family members who loaned me a printer to continue my cards until my printer is fixed so disaster barely averted lol.
Well today I don't have a card for you but I though I would post pics of what used to be my craft room when we were in our last home which was much larger and my teeny tiny craft area now. I sat " area" because it's in a corner of my kitchen lol with three quarters of my supplies packed in boxes in the basement that I don't have....let's call it a crawl space lol.
I knew when buying this house I was going to have to sacrifice......but I thought that meant giving up a kid or 2 for space lol...kiddinggggggg I love my kiddies :)

Wow what a challenge!

Well I can say that this week has been a challenge on all fronts.
The snow here is not wanting to go away at all, in fact just the opposite lol...over a foot last night alone...wow!
Everyday life is keeping me pretty busy and planning out these cards in my head when I'm not crafting is keeping me awake at night lol...but it's ok, I love it.
This card was a huge challenge for me as it took me out of my comfort zone a bit.  I started with a different image, twice but they didn't work out :(. I chose this image from Stamping Bella because I liked the elongated size of it.  I used my pencils again ( no surprise there lol ) and burnished my colors.  I must say after the 4 days it took me to do this one, I'm glad I took my time because I really like it.

Happy hump day :)
Been pretty busy here with cleaning and organizing, plus me moved from a big house to a smaller on and my craft room is now non existent...I'll have to post old and new pics sometime and you'll get the point lol
So onto the card :)
As usual I've been watching the challenge blogs and I love doing my cards this way by following some challenge guidelines, this way, what I come up with, is not something I would normally do and it definetly challenges me.

Think I'm addicted

Well here we go again lol... I've been keeping an eye on the current challenges and had those in mind while creating this card.
I have been snooping around other blogs and can't believe how inspiring you all are to me.
It took me a bit to finish this one since everytime I sat down to color someone would interrupt me plus I had to take a break to make supper....apparently it's against the law not to feed your kids lol so with kids fed, I sat back down and this is what I came up with :)
The image I chose is skater Wren by Tiddly Inks.... Just love their stamps!  I used flocking powder for the first time in order to create a "fur" effect and must say I really like it.
Again I used my pencils with no solvent and think gamsol is a thing of the past for me lol

Hope everyone is enjoying their weather! If you are in a sunny warm place then I definitely envy you, if you are buried in snow, I can relate lol...it's been like minus a gazillion here...well at least that's what it feels like lol
So I have been watching the challenge blogs to oogle over the creative talent featured by design teams and entrees and I must say most of the time I'm in complete awe over the amount of talent these ladies have.....I only wish lol, but I know I'm still new to this whole thing and quite proud of what I can accomplish presently.
As you can see by the image below, I used my pencils again ( I swear I'm gonna buy more copics soon ).  The image I chose is by Your Next Stamp and the reason I chose it is because of the bird...I love this little guy!
I've decided to enter in a few more challenges with this card and had those in mind when I designed it.
